21st Century Western Culture finds many seeking help to become their authentic selves; to themselves to be true. How does what should be natural become complicated?

Too few have been encouraged to develop their unique sense of identity. Most people, like energy and water, seek the path of least resistance and lowest level of activity. Going along to get along prompts people to join gangs, organizations, the wrong crowd; mediums that prevent them from acting in their self interest.

Have you ever tried to be some one that you are not to please someone else? Have you ever done this in a relationship to please loved ones; parents or partners? Do you feel this every time you go to work?

Do you hide behavior that you really enjoy but don’t want anyone to know? Do you involve yourself in high risk unprotected sex, drug abuse, violence, or other criminal activity that would cost you your primary relationships if you were found out? Do you do these things because you think you can’t help it?

This practical how – to approach will help you become your authentic self so you can to yourself be true:

First, you really have to be sick and tired of being sick and tired of pretending to be someone you are not.
Second, you are going to have to confront yourself with questions you need answers to.
Third, you are going to need some help. This can be anyone you authorize to help you examine your behavior and that will hold you accountable for your behavior on a regular basis. It can also be a professional.
Fourth, believe you can achieve your authentic self.
Fifth, love yourself enough to do the work necessary to become your authentic self.
Six, realize that it will take time and consistent application of all you are learning to become your authentic self.

The beauty of now is that you make your own choices, no one else. This is the necessary work to honor the uniqueness and individuality of your authentic self; the responsible freedom, “to thine ownself be true”.

The feel good of hope realized is the experience of pleasure. Pleasure is one of the two great motivators of human behavior. When humans experience pleasure, we feel more alive, feel life is good, and cherish every moment as if drinking the elixir of immortality.

The hope for pleasure prompts humans to be goal oriented. From the cradle to the grave, we conjure images of what we want in our minds and dedicate our energies to getting what we want because getting what we want will give us pleasure.

We seek pleasure through accomplishments, through relationships, and through experiences. We plan trips in advance of taking them to enhance the pleasure of the experience when we do.

We imagine the experience of great sex making love with the ones we’ve created in our minds. We seek and search for them with the energy of passion built into the sensory network of our central nervous systems.

The hope to acquire lots of money and what money can buy motivates many. The acquiring of money brings pleasure to those who make it their primary focus.

Pleasure has been trivialized by some in as if inappropriate motivation. Religious notions have suggested the pursuit of pleasure as immoral.

There is nothing wrong with the hope for, the pursuit of, or the experience of pleasure. Give yourself permission to do all three. Your life has not been gifted to you to experience without the joy of pleasure.

Make every moment in your mind and in your reality the experience of the pleasure you desire. As long as what you want neither harms nor denigrates anyone, go for it. You are an adult. You work hard managing your responsibilities. Work hard providing yourself pleasures. After every euphoric orgasmic moment that made you want to laugh out loud or scream in ecstasy, take a moment to be thankful for your experience.

Make Monday a pleasure. Love yourself and somebody else. As much as you desire pleasure, share some. Give some. Feel good about it because you did.

Sexuality and spirituality empower and liberate the human spirit. These are the paths of enlightened love, life, and peace.

Sex and religion are about power and control, the paths to slavery and addiction. These are the tools of people users like preachers, politicians, and civic leaders. On the one hand, they condemn the sexual behaviors of others while having secret lives on the other doing all the things they tell others not to do.

Well here’s to all the frauds, fakes, and pretenders; STEP OFF! Today we begin to talk about sex in its most literal context, the place where most of us live and try to make sense out of life everyday.

Mommas who taught little girls about Santa Claus also taught their little girls to keep their legs together, knowing neither scenario was real in the long term. Men who want virgins for wives want them immediately transformed into porn queens to be equal to what they have seen, read, or heard. Women hope for men who will be strong provider protectors.

These historical notions exist. Men use love to get sex. Women use sex to get love. Communicating seems appropriate here.

Human biological instinct will not deny acting itself out. Many despite access to education are ignorant of their own bodies. If women don’t know enough, women are immensely more aware than men. Boys and men invest so little time in understanding female anatomy and process; it is easy to understand why 66% of women responding to the Quality of Sexual Life Survey do not experience orgasm through intercourse.

The Master Jesus taught, If the blind lead the blind, nobody finds their way.

If most people most of the time are sexually ignorant and immature, illiterate and dysfunctional relationship can be the only likely outcome. Real people need real information about real life to make informed decisions. Real people need real information from real people about real sex and real sexual activity. It’s time for us to grow up.

Because poverty and conflict run rampant throughout the global community, many are suffering and dying needlessly. Resources that could be used for the development of human provision and care are being used to fuel war and support its industrial and technological profit motives.

Be it therefore resolved that WE, the citizens of the Earth in our different cultures and communities make every effort to live in peace as much as is possible with all people, to live and prosper as much is possible without resource exploitation, human or natural; and

Be it further resolved that we commit to doing no harm to ourselves or others and that we strive to live in love and harmony as much as is possible after the model of the great ones who have lived before us; and

Be it further resolved that we shall seek to live in partnership and community with the Creator of the Universe and each other, less WE miserably fail in our task of achieving peace;

We, who commit ourselves to this resolution do so by committing ourselves to human development and the meeting of human need; spiritual, emotional, and physical by placing our names to this resolution by email.

Leaders are not heroes. Leaders are persons who assert themselves, their personalities, their energies, their resources, and their influence to bring about change perceived necessary. Leaders regard this action their reasonable service in making good things better and wrong things right.

What is the mission you have established for your life? One best practice to reach established personal goals is to have a clear idea of what it is we believe we want to do, the mission.

Once clarity is achieved for what one wants to do, the mission should be written as clearly as possible in one sentence. Once the mission is clear, standards must be established to maintain focus and stay on track to achieving the mission.

A sample mission statement might read like this. My mission is to teach individuals and groups relationship development and management strategies.

Next, standards must be established to stay on task for doing my mission. An established standard must be measurable and observable to determine whether the tasks of the standards are being accomplished or not.

Standards for observation and measure might include:

The specific time meals are taken during the day and how many calories to be consumed.
The specific times for getting up, going to bed and the number of hours for sleep.
The specific times for professional appointments, exercise, meditation, and a nap.
The specific amount of time spent doing continuing education to stay informed of new and innovative approaches to relationship building.

With an established check list in hand, monitoring is made convenient to determine whether or not standards are being met and goals being accomplished.

This pathway to success is not for the undisciplined, the timid, or for the excuse makers. This pathway is for individuals and groups that pursue activity to help them don their mission and accomplish their mission, goals, and standards. Without a clear mission and established standards to achieve the goals of the mission, chances for success are minimal.
